Imitating Someone Is the Secret to Success

It’s not plagiarism.

I was always the VIP body double in my life.

I wasn’t confident on myself and to impress people and be perceived as smart and intelligent, I imitated people and I realized people were impressed by me because they didn’t follow whom I imitated and wasted hours on watching cat videos.

I also had a list of people to imitate stuck on every corner of my table and bed:

Tim Denning for writing.
Jhankar Mahbub for business and leadership.
Ayman Sadiq for the cool presentation.
Sadman Sadik for a broad perspective.

While reflecting on my life after two years, I understood the power of imitation.

Imitation is the Alibaba of mentorship.

People are too afraid to write a bad message to a mentor and mentors are too afraid to waste time on someone who doesn’t act.

One mentor doesn’t have it all figured out and you can’t give time to 93 mentors at a time.

Too often, the first round of mentorship is easy to get in but nurturing the relationship is where the game ends.
